Preservation starts with a closer look

Can it
be saved?

A worn finish does not always mean worn out timber. Before replacing a window, door, staircase or original detail, show me what you have.

Send a few photographs and explain the problem. I review them personally and suggest whether a decorating assessment, another specialist or a closer inspection should come next.

Judgement, not a repair promise

Three useful directions.

The aim is to decide who should look next, not to diagnose hidden damage from a screen.

A decorating assessment

The photographs suggest that preparation, a local repair or refinishing may be worth investigating. Suitability still needs to be established.

Another specialist first

A joiner, glazier or another appropriate specialist may need to assess the underlying problem before decorating can be considered.

A closer look

More photographs, background information or an inspection may be needed before I can suggest a sensible next step.

Tell me about the timber

Mention earlier repairs, whether the detail is inside or outside and anything that makes access difficult.

Describe what you can see without disturbing the surface. Your request will be reviewed personally, not assessed by AI.

A couple of sentences is enough. Include any timing or access needs.

Add private photographs, optional

They can receive £100 when your first service is completed and paid in full. All services qualify, with no minimum spend. Ask their permission before sharing their details. Read the referral terms.

No obligation. I reply personally to agree the next step.

Before you send

Can photographs confirm that timber can be saved?

No. They can show visible symptoms, but cannot establish remaining strength, hidden decay, moisture readings or coating hazards. A preliminary direction is not a diagnosis, quotation or guarantee that a repair is suitable.

What should I photograph?

Include an overall view, a close view of the affected area and the surrounding joints or edges. Take photographs only from a safe position. Do not climb, force an opening, scrape paint or probe timber to provide evidence.

Does sending this request book an inspection?

No. I review the information personally and reply about the next step. Any inspection, scope and fee are agreed separately before booking. This request does not authorise work or subscribe you to marketing.
