Preparation and repairs

The walls, ceilings and woodwork are being considered together so the preparation and finish suit this older property. Careful work around the existing features and large windows helps retain the character of each room while creating a clean, consistent result.

Paint and material choices

Egyptian Cotton was chosen for the walls, paired with white Zinsser satinwood on the woodwork. The soft wall colour and crisp white finish work with the generous natural light from the large windows.

Result and progress

The fresh neutral walls and clean white woodwork bring the rooms back to life without competing with the period details. The finish feels brighter and more defined, while remaining sympathetic to the age and character of the villa.
