Preparation before colour
I inspect previous coatings, movement, cracks, stains and joinery before recommending a finish. Floors, furniture and routes through the home are protected before surface preparation begins.

02
Halls, kitchens and family rooms often need a finish that tolerates regular cleaning. A flatter matt may suit rooms with less wear. Doors, skirtings and trim need paint chosen for the existing coating and the handling they receive.
03
St Andrews homes range from contemporary apartments to traditional stone properties. I use breathable finishes only where the substrate and existing coating build up call for them, rather than treating age alone as a specification.
04
I match primer, filling method, wall finish and trim paint to adhesion, porosity, previous coatings and the room’s wear. Kitchens and halls often need greater cleanability; low traffic rooms may favour a flatter appearance. Product names, sheen and surfaces are recorded in the written quotation.
Serving St Andrews
I carry out painting and decorating at homes across St Andrews. Quotations are based on the property, surfaces, access and agreed scope rather than generic room rates. Our guide to pricing and preparation explains what is inspected, included and identified separately.
