Looking after your paintwork
Painted kitchen cabinets
after we leave.
Hand painted cabinets are tough once fully cured, which takes around three to four weeks. Be gentle with them until then.
Keep this page. It is what we follow on our own homes, and following it keeps your twelve month guarantee in good order.
The first few weeks
- Open and close doors gently for the first two weeks.
- Keep kettles and toasters away from the doors for a month. Steam softens fresh paint.
- Do not put stick on bumpers or hooks on for a month.
Cleaning
- Wipe with a soft cloth and mild soapy water. Dry straight after.
- Clean around handles regularly. Hand grease is the main cause of wear.
- Wipe up splashes as they happen, especially oil and tomato.
Please avoid
- Antibacterial sprays and degreasers on the painted surface.
- Hanging damp tea towels over doors.
- Scourers of any kind.
Touching up
We leave a labelled sample of the exact colour. For chips, sand lightly and touch in with a fine brush.
When to check
Look at door edges near the sink and the dishwasher after six months.
Something not right
Tell us and
we will come back.
If anything cracks, flakes or lifts within twelve months, send a photo and we will look at it. That is the guarantee.
